I’m with Ellen. I liked the song choice but I don’t know Janell well enough to know if she could have actually done it well without the nerves. They really got the best of her.

And did we actually hear Randy say something intelligent? Was I dreaming? If you missed it, he said that contestants should always choose a song that they can bring something different to that doesn’t make people compare it to the original vocalist…
