Cook Goes Platinum

I’m five days late with this, but since it’s really good news, I hope you’ll forgive me…

“David Cook” has been certified platinum by the RIAA for sales exceeding one million units.

According to the official press release from 19 (which I just got today, thus the delay), “Time of My Life” has also gone platinum making it the highest selling coronation single in “Idol” history. Maybe that will teach the show something about actually picking decent songs…

Now, I know that record companies play with numbers when it comes to these certifications, but to even see Cook be eligible for it is quite an achievement—especially when some people had completely written him off.

Of course, I was not one of those people, thank you very much…
