Ryan Seacrest: "Idol" without Simon will be "like losing my oxygen"
Here’s an interview from “The Los Angeles Times” with Ryan Seacrest. It was conducted last week before the story about him keeping Mama Sox on the show broke.
It does however ask about his strange behavior Tuesday night although he won’t admit he was overcaffeinated. He alludes to giving one of his jobs up—but not “Idol.”
And when asked about “Idol” without Simon he says, “It will be like losing my oxygen. I don't know what it will be like without him next year. You certainly cannot recreate Simon Cowell. You cannot recreate the role he played and you can't do anything that's derivative, if you will, of what Simon has built, and will continue to build. I think there is a big question mark. I don't know because I don't know who is going to be there. I don't know what that dynamic will be like, but as we can all guess, it will certainly be different and it'll create a life of it's own. We'll just have to wait and see.”
Ryan also said he’s in charge of editing Simon’s goodbye video.
