Tonight’s Show

The big question tonight is not what 80s song everyone will sing, but what Ryan will say about the David Hernandez scandal—if anything (Scroll down if you haven’t heard the news.).

I think the show has got to confront it somehow, even if Ryan only briefly mentions it to David by saying he’s had a rough day today (similar to what he did with Antonella last season).

As for the all important song choice, since the 80s are chock full of great music, there’s no excuse for a bad show tonight. You hear me top 16? None.

So will Michael Johns take Brooke White’s lead and sing the performer the judges have compared him to, Michael Hutchence, and do an INXS tune? Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing that. Maybe a little “Devil Inside” or “Never Tear Us Apart,” if they clear?

And what about Luke Menard? We’ve already mentioned how much he looks like Kenny Loggins. Why not go with a Loggins tune? Maybe “Meet Me Half Way”? If he goes with “Footloose” or “Danger Zone” it could come off WAY too corny.

And what about David Archuleta? I’d like to see him go a little more upbeat this week. Wouldn’t it be cute to see him do “Maneater” by Hall and Oates? Just a thought….

Be back later tonight for the show, which, thankfully, is only an hour tonight…
