The Eliminated Speak

Friday, we got to hear from the latest four contestants eliminated. Here are some of the highlights from their media interviews…

Jason Yeager confirmed that this week will be 80s week. He said he wanted to sing something by Journey, but they were having trouble securing the rights. He also said they were considering a 90s week, so he was hoping to make it that far so he could sing Boyz II Men.

As for what went wrong, Jason said he was at a disadvantage because of his lack of camera time during the auditions. I think your bad performances might have put you at a disadvantage too there, Jason. We didn’t know Luke at all and it doesn’t seem to be hurting him…

Alexandrea Lushington said that she and David Archuleta had “a really cool relationship” and had “grown really, really close.” They have known each other for a while because they were on “Star Search” together four years ago.

As for her dreadful song choice, she said she doesn’t regret it…

Speaking of regret, Alaina Whitaker said she would have regretted it if she hadn’t sung after her elimination. She chose “Hopelessly Devoted to You” because “Grease” is her favorite movie of all time…

And Robbie Carrico, of course, is holding to his claim of being a rock singer. He said that he has been paying his dues as a rocker for the past six years. But we still don’t know if his hair was real or not…
