LaKisha Heads for Broadway

LaKisha Jones is headed for Broadway.

Beginning December 19th, LaKisha will play the Church Soloist in “The Color Purple” (which is currently starring Fantasia). The Church Soloist opens the show with the gospel number, “Mysterious Ways.”

Beginning January 9th, LaKisha will play the Church Soloist at all evening performances and Sofia at all matinees. Chaka Khan will play Sofia at the evening performances.

By the way, Fantasia’s last performance as Celie is January 6th…
