Carmen Rolls Into Town...

Yesterday, Carmen Rasmusen brought her bus through Huntington and made a stop at the WSAZ studios to do an interview with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.

For those of you who don’t remember Carmen, she was, quite frankly, Season 2’s Sanjaya—the contestant who made it further than anyone thought she should (the top six). Like Sanjaya, she was only 17.

Now 22, Carmen is traveling the country to promote her music and working on a country CD, after she released an EP, "Carmen," in 2005. Her new single, “Nothin’ Like Summer,” will debut on iTunes later this month. And I know this because I read it on Tony Cavalier’s weather blog over at http://www.wsaz.com/. Sorry, Tony, but I can’t help but chuckle a little at that one…

This picture of Carmen and her husband, Brad Herbert, is from the new “People” book, “American Idol: Where Are They Now?”
