Is Danny's Sheltered Upbringing Contributing to His Song Choices?

I’ve been pretty hard on Danny Gokey’s limited musical choices in recent weeks. But just maybe there’s a logical explanation…

On USATODAY.com today, “Idol” Executive Producer Ken Warwick said about Danny, “Some of his musical knowledge is a little bit limited because his upbringing was quite musically sheltered. He didn’t watch much television when he was a kid. Song selection is quite difficult for him sometimes.”

Not watching much television as a kid? I shudder at the thought…
