Our First Tissue Moment and "Cue the Rain"

8:14 We’re back…Ryan introduces David Cook singing “Permanent.” Wow, the tissue moment so early in the show? And I just realized my box is empty!...I hope Ryan is planning on talking to him after this to tell people that they can download this to benefit David’s brain cancer charity…That rock riff is a new addition to the song. I like it…That was gorgeous and I know not easy for him to do…Ryan comes over to him now and gives him a hug…David admits it’s a tough song but it’s an honor to his brother and everybody else going through things like that…David tells that the proceeds will benefit ABC Squared…David says he doesn’t know if America can get this wrong between Kris and Adam…Justin Guarini in the house…

8:19 Ryan begins the “awards portion”…The Golden Idol Awards for the auditioners…Shot of Kris and Adam spinning the trophy around for the shot. That was funny…Outstanding Male…Will Kunick doing “Mad World.” That’s ironic now…Michael Gurr doing ???...Elijah Scarlett doing “My Everything” in a deep bass voice…Dean-Anthony Bradford doing ? with that wild plaid jacket and big crazy voice…Nick Mitchell, aka Norman Gentle, who gets a big scream from the crowd. Gee, wonder who’s winning this one?...And the winner is Nick Mitchell. Big shock…He comes from the crowd dressed normal…He says he didn’t know he was going to win something so he didn’t dress appropriately, but then he takes off his hooded sweatshirt to perform. I have to admit he’s a good actor…He’s doing “And I Am Telling You”…He goes to the mini-stage behind the judges…And now he’s on the floor inn the middle of the crowd…Back to Ryan who’s wearing his glasses and headband. “God, these are greasy,” he says…

8:25 First duet…Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah doing “Cue the Rain”…They’ve got dancers behind them…Wow, Queen Latifah looks good…They sound pretty good together, but I’m not sure about the song…Latifah’s letting Lil have the spotlight…Now Latifah gets the spotlight and she does it better…Too much backup singers as usual…Break…
